Laser Plumbing & Electrical Horsham Shines A Light On Sustainability
28 September 2023
The O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing and Laser Network facilitate sustainable renovations and refurbishments to local communities through the O’Brien Sustainability Community Grants program. We congratulate Laser Plumbing & Electrical Horsham on their recent community impact project, where they completed a 6.6-kilowatt solar installation and electrical switchboard upgrade at Maydale Pavilion.
The Maydale Pavilion is the largest shed in the Horsham Agricultural Society that hosts various events and expos, including the annual agricultural show. With the recent solar upgrades, the Agricultural Society now has the opportunity to spend more of its funds on events and infrastructure.
The Horsham Agricultural Society were the worthy recipients of this funding due to their award-winning community service impact. The project value came to $10,000, supported through donations and grants.
Laser Plumbing & Electrical Horsham’s Operations Manager, Brad Stewart, said, “The society punches well above its weight and works so hard on behalf of the community. They will be able to see the benefits from this project immediately, and the money they will save on their power bills can be put towards other events or improving assets.”
Andrea Cross, Horsham Agricultural Society’s Secretary, said, it was important to her to ‘shop local’, “I’m all for shopping locally, so I contacted our local Laser team. It’s important to think ahead, and if I went with an out-of-town supplier, who do I call if something goes wrong? We are talking about a big investment. When I called Laser, and they said they not only did solar panels, they wanted to do the project for free to give back to the community, I thought, ‘Wow, why us?’.”
Laser Plumbing & Electrical Horsham Managing Director, Matt Coutts, has been a long-time supporter of Horsham Agricultural Society and its various events.
“Matt has supported us over the years, but this relationship has developed into something I can’t believe,” Andrea said. “We are so grateful for Laser’s generosity of spirit. We are going to be so much better off. For a not-for-profit organisation to not have to worry about the rising cost of power is wonderful.”
Matt says “These projects change people’s lives and it’s something really special to be a part of. Giving back is also something Brad, Corey and I are very passionate about.
We support many different sporting and community groups with financial donations, but we really wanted to sink our teeth into a major project and create something tangible that will benefit the community for years to come.”
The O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing Network has a long history of giving back. The Group works together to provide sustainable solutions and large community impact projects. These include; their annual Taskforce project, Backyard Blitz and Pay it Forward activities. These are just some of the ways the O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing Network continues to be committed to supporting communities and society in a sustainable manner.
