Prevention is always better than cure, and there are ways in which you can avoid an expensive plumbing problem (or just reduce your monthly bill). I’m Matt Latham, owner of O'Brien Plumbing Perth, and these are things I do to maintain my home:
- Avoid pouring grease and fats down the sink drain to reduce blockages.
- Service your hot water system annually to keep it running efficiently.
- Inspect the flexible hose connections under sinks, the laundry trough, basins and next to toilets for any sign of discolouration or rusting, which can indicate an impending pipe burst.
- Check that all outlets are waterwise with reduced flow rates to minimise your water and gas bill.
- I recommend a filtration unit like the one I have in my home. It serves the entire house’s water supply and prevents chalky calcium staining on my shower screen (the wife’s very happy with this installation).
Having worked with our customers for over 9 years at O'Brien Plumbing Perth, we encourage our customers to maintain their plumbing systems rather than repair or replace them in an emergency.
Whether you are a homeowner, property or strata manager – the expert team at O'Brien Plumbing Perth can provide the plumbing services you need.
